Why should you scan your photos, albums, slides, and negatives?

What about your memorabilia and even your paperwork?

Preservation
  • Over time, sunshine and dust causes damage to old photos; dirt settles and they can become sticky and prone to image deterioration. They also fade and the quality of your precious photos can be lost forever.
  • Just as we insure our homes against a fire or a flood, it would be nice to insure our photos and keepsakes too; however, you know that those photos can't be reproduced. And there's only one of them. If the unthinkable happened, wouldn't it be a big relief to know that actually, you have a full digital copy just in case?
Save space at home
  • Loose photos are often tucked away tightly into bottom drawers or old shoe boxes. They take up so much space and it's a real task to find the photo you're looking for. And so what happens? Invariably we don't look for them at all.
  • Scan them and that space is yours again. If you want to keep them forever, then you really can pack them into your attic or spare room and not have to worry about them getting damaged or torn any more.
View them in seconds
  • Watch them on your TV, at your desk on your PC, on your laptop, on your phone, tablet, iPad or via Google Photos, Drop Box and more. View them where you want to watch them, in seconds.
  • Store them on your hard drive at home and have a CD/DVD or USB to hand to view them
  • Store them on the cloud if you prefer or we use Google Photos to send you a preview link so you can view them from anywhere.
  • Whichever way, it's really easy to have your entire collection completely at your disposal, with the comfort of knowing that you have the master copy.
Share them with friends & family
  • One of the best things about scanning your collection is being able to give your family members a copy of the complete family photo collection.
  • Share them with friends and family members who live abroad via a link (which allows you to share your photo album),or a CD or USB key.
  • Help family members to complete their family tree and add that all important face to a name.
  • Keep your children's school reports and share them with grandparents or family elsewhere.
  • Have your important documents to hand any time, anywhere.

  • For those using social media such as Facebook, Twitter, Snapchat, Instagram, Google and more, what a great way to share your snaps from times gone by.
  • No more taking a photo (with your phone) of an old family photo so that you can put it on social media.
Watch at home
  • Have you ever seen some family photos on your big screen at home? Wow! They look quite amazing actually. Clients tell us of how they notice details that they really hadn't picked up on before.
  • Years ago, we used to sit on the sofa and thumb through the photos you'd just had developed; a lot of us miss that simple experience that we took for granted. Watching your photos on your TV, choosing a to run them in 'continuous slide' mode or just flipping through them one after another ... all this can be done sitting on your sofa, together with family or friends.
View via media
  • Some people prefer to view their photos on the TV in the comfort of their own home so just play the CD or plug the USB into the back of the TV if your TV has that functionality, which many devices do have.
  • Alternatively, you can view them on your phone, on your tablet or iPad, view them on your PC/laptop or store them in DropBox or on the Cloud
  • Or better still, we'll send you a link and you can save it and share it thereon. It's really simple.
Avoid that stress
  • Often, at the very sad time when a loved one has passed, one of the first things that the family wants to preserve is the family photos and memorabilia. However, it's not an easy time, it can cause real stress between family members and all a time when we're not really thinking straight.
  • By scanning them now, not only is that stress avoided but more importantly, you can actually enjoy them whilst that family member is with you, here and now.
Kids school work
  • Ever found that at the end of your child's school term, they arrive home with armfuls of their best school work? They are proud and so are you, but where do you put it? Does it end up in your attic? It's very hard to throw it out.
  • It's simple! For 10p a scan, you can scan as much or as little as you want and then it's there for the kids to look at it in years to come.
  • Scan school reports and achievement certificates; scan and look back on your children's story writing skills.
Declutter your house
  • Thousands of photos are stored away in attics and cupboards and that often makes them pretty inaccessible
  • Scanning them means you just don't have that clutter any more. That can feel like a big relief.
  • And how nice to actually be able to view what you've scanned in an organised way, with useful folder names and labels.
Get creative
  • Use your scanned images to design a special 50th birthday collection of favourite photos
  • Give your friends a USB of the snaps you've collected, as a birthday or Christmas present
  • Use them to make calendars at Christmas time
  • Use them to order personalised presents like mugs, T-shirts and more
