Do you have a similar story, I wonder? I have lovingly kept all my photos and special keepsakes in a very safe place for years; some in my attic so I didn’t lose half the bookshelf space to albums, some in drawers and others in shoe boxes in the spare room. Great memories. Occasionally we'd rummage through them but if we couldn't find the photos we were looking for, I still knew that my precious collection was all there and when I had time, we'd look at them more often. Then we moved house. Oh dear. I had photos and favourites everywhere! And if I'm honest, it was a bit of a wake up call.

You see, I'm an expert in professional scanning and yet despite knowing the industry really well, who was I going to trust with one of the most precious things I owned? The industry is focussed on document scanning in volumes of thousands, and certainly not on my photo collection!

Scan My Snaps was formed from that moment on. I'm Viv Walker and for 23 years my world was professional scanning, working for Kodak Ltd who are a world leader in professional scanning technology.

So I trusted myself. We scanned every photo, slide, negative, keepsake, certificate and document that I owned and now I have them in digital photo folders with names and dates and it's easy peasy to find things at a moment's notice! I gained so much space that suddenly my life didn’t feel so cluttered and disorganised, and now, I can view the last 80 years of our family's precious moments on my large screen TV or on my laptop, phone, online and anywhere! It's amazing, honestly. It's such a great experience. Trust is everything and I realise I should have done it years ago. Oh, and being able to find your photos when they've been scanned really helps too!
